Highlighting Chart Changes

One of the main concerns about Aeronautical Charting during AIP/MAP publication, is the validation process.
.

How to be sure that a chart, now fully generated from the database content, integrates all expected changes but only them. Because a chart change can be related to so many elements like a small formatting issue, a background modification or a real data changes, this is quite difficult for operators to prevent errors every time.

To help cartographic operators, we added in ATALIS, an easy and powerful feature, making a dynamic bitmap comparison between the two chart releases.

This bitmap produced in Animated Gif format (to be opened inside IE or Firefox: click on the picture to enlarge it) highlights chart changes, and drastically prevents any missing or erroneous changes for operators.

This powerful feature is also available for end-users, integrated by Egis Avia into the eAIP ( EUROCONTROL specification).
In that case, end-users can consult this enhanced chart, while checking the Amendment changes.

Obstacle Chart Demonstration Video

This video presents how ATALIS can be used to produce an ICAO Obstacle Chart. The video illustrates the relation between the database and the charts. Especially, it shows how modifying stored data automatically updates the corresponding chart(s).

Prototype of a Flight Management writing interface

A character recognition interface for EGIS AVIA Flight Movement Management module is under development, and will benefit from up-to-date technoloy enhancements. Instead of selecting characters on a virtual keyboard, this interface, wholly integrated within current interface, will allow Air Traffic Controllers to write directly on a dedicated part of the screen.
